Demo FAQs
How is a demo different than the purchased version?
The demo overlays an X on the plugin’s output. Upon purchasing, the X will disappear (on whichever plugins you purchased). There will be no need to re-apply the effects in your project, saving you time.
Do Pixelan demos have special hardware requirements? The recent versions of our plugins are hardware-accelerated via your computer's video/graphics chip to accelerate rendering. Therefore, a DirectX 9 or OpenGL 2.1 compatible graphics card is required (almost any chip released in the last 10 years will work). A DirectX 10 or OpenGL 3.2 compatible card with at least 1GB video memory is recommended for HD and high bit-depth editing.
How do I install the Demo?
(Windows): After saving the demo file to your hard drive, double-click it. (macOS): The download is a .dmg file for macOS computers (High Sierra and later). Double-click the saved .dmg file to open it. Follow the ReadMe in the dmg file to complete the installation. After the installation is finished, you can eject the dmg.
How do I uninstall the Demo?
(Windows): Choose Uninstall Masters from your Start > All Programs > Pixelan > Masters folder. Or double-click Pixelan Masters in your Windows Programs and Features control panel. (macOS): Start Uninstall or Add PlugIns from your Applications > Pixelan FX for Adobe folder.
